Her San Francisco Victorian house is the epitome of intimacy and grace and has been featured on television programs and in such magazines as Victoria, Architectural Digest, Redbook, and Home Design. Now she invites readers into her home and shows them how to incorporate romantic elements into their own homes, without sacrificing their individual style or spending a great deal of time or money.

The book's special features include:

• chapters devoted to each room in the house with innovative ideas for bringing romance and comfort into every corner, including outdoor spaces

• illustrated do-it-yourself projects inspired by Jessica's décor using simple design principles, basic sewing and crafting skills, and a little imagination

Jessica McClintock's Simply Romantic Decorating is a blueprint for readers on how to indulge their romantic decorating fantasies with timeless style and personal flair.

It's not every day that celebrities throw their homes open to more than high-style interior design magazines. Here, almost every inch of fashion designer McClintock's 1889 San Francisco Victorian residence is available for scrutiny, from her parquet floors to the hand-crafted baldachin canopy beds. She is true to her business design and personal style; it is clear from the meticulous attention to the narrative and the elaborate vocabulary sidebars that romance with a capital R defines her life. All the foundations to realize this kind of elegance are well explained: different periods, typical decorative touches, soft furnishings, textile choices, even the most appropriate vines and trailing plants to select. Offered are more than 15 do-it-yourself projects, such as painted-glazed walls, etched windows, fringed throw pillows, and gilded side tables. Jacobs, Barbara
